I just had a long and powerful conversation with a co-worker at the gym.
I’ll spare you the details, but what we discussed left me feeling that white-hot burning feeling in my gut that only the most intense motivation provides.
The ideas he and I talked about had to do with the power we either give or take from ourselves.
Think of it this way. So many of us sit back and wait for everyone else to tell us what we are or we aren’t.
If no one provides us with the title of ‘expert’, or ‘successful’, or ‘smart’, then we tend to accept that we just don’t have it and continue to blend in and try not to make too much noise.
But here’s the punch in the gut.
Crowns aren’t given, they’re taken.
You have to snatch that title out of the air and claim it as your own before anyone else hands it to you.
When it comes to changing your body and becoming who you want to be, believe you’re that person and that you deserve all that comes with being that person.
You’re strong. You’re capable. You’re sexy. You’re whatever title you decide to claim as yours.
Only then does the process begin.
How many times have you began working towards these goals and then let it slip away?
Maybe you told yourself the problem was time, or work got busy.
The truth is, you didn’t believe you could do it in the first place.
The good news is, you can do it, and all you need to do is decide that it’s yours, then go take it.
No one achieves great things by mistake.
It’s up to you to decide who you are, and what you’re going to become.
Then work at it like you know you’re going to achieve it.
If you know with every fiber of your being that this is yours for the taking, whether or not you succeed is no longer the question.
It’s just a matter of time.
