You're Kicking Ass and You Don't Even KNow It

I just paid my taxes, and as always, it was like a punch in the gut.

But this time around something shocked me.

When my accountant called me to let me now the damage, he prepared me for the news by saying, "Now, your revenue increased by 26% from 2015..."

*record screeches* Say what?

I didn't think I heard him right. If anything, I thought I slid backwards by 26% this year.

Now, this isn't a 'look at me, my business is growing' post.

This is a lesson.

If I had done a better job tracking my business, I would have known I was growing. Instead, I spent the last 12 months thinking I was stuck.

I'm serous. I was in my head and assumed the worst. I could have saved myself a ton of metal anguish by just tracking my progress.

I'm telling you this because I have a feeling a lot of you feel the same way about your fitness progress.

You're mentally beat down, and you feel like you're not seeing the progress you want. But the fact is, you have no idea because you're not tracking.

Sure, you may hop on the scale now and then, but we know by now the scale on its own is a terrible metric.

If you're not tracking measurements, strength levels, how much work you get done in the gym, how your clothes fit, how you look in the mirror, etc, then you're never going to know exactly how much you're progressing.

Instead, you'll default to the worst case scenario because that's how our brains work.

Listen, if you're putting in the work in the gym and with your nutrition, you're going to make progress. But if you aren't tracking, you'll be kicking ass and won't even know it.

Trust me on this one ;)
